NBC has renewed Grimm for a second season.

The drama with a fairy tale twist from Buffy scribes David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf has been a steady performer for the network against established genre fare Fringe and Supernatural in the time slot.

Grimm scribe Akela Cooper broke the news on Twitter on Friday morning, tweeting: “Just heard the good news: #GRIMM IS GETTING A SECOND SEASON!! … Walk into the office this morning & our showrunners David Greenwalt & Jim Kouf tell me the good news: #Grimm is picked up 4 a second season!”

NBC picked up the series, starring David Giuntoli, Bitsie Tulloch, Silas Weir Mitchell, Sasha Roiz, Reggie Lee and Russell Hornsby, for a full season in November.
